What is a 'Library of Things'?

A Library of Things is like a book library but for useful items. Instead of buying a pasta machine for the occasional Italian night, or upgrading your old sewing machine that you rarely use, why not just borrow from us?

Borrowing helps our community

Reduce consumption and waste
Save money and make projects more affordable
Help to build a mind-set in our community that sharing things is an excellent option

Cost & duration of hire

Most hires typically cost between £1 – £9 (depending on the item)
Most items are typically hired for 2 days, but you can also hire for a day, or extend to a week+ if available

How it works

Browse & choose - find what you need by searching or browsing our categories.
Book online - select your hire dates and place your reservation.
Collect from The Mix Community Space, 15 Mill Street OX12 9AB, Wantage during collection times: Monday 1pm - 4pm, Wednesday 10 am - 4 pm and Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.
Return to the Mix. Bring it back on time so it's ready for the next person.

The Library of Things collection and return point is The Mix Community Space, please note our pickup times before you travel: Monday 1pm - 4pm, Wednesday 10 am – 4 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 4 pm

You've got something to donate?

We welcome good-quality items that can be safely borrowed by others. Please send an email to wantagemix@gmail.com with a photo and a short description of the item you’d like to donate.

Items don’t need to be new, but they must be:

Safe and fit for purpose
In good working condition
Suitable for shared community use
